Details of HAMMAM for MIAD

Different Textures

Hammam has been created to redefine the disconnection and relaxation of a traditional Arab bath. Combining functionality, style and design, we have obtained this result that is the perfect symbiosis of the Andalusian and neo-Mzudejar style in a space of about 20 square meters.

In this space we can find different textures such as clay on the walls, limestone, Cordoban cobblestone, zellige, ceramics, etc. Details that could be seen with the naked eye but... What is the functionality of some of them? Hammam has been designed to walk barefoot on its surfaces so you can feel the change in textures and even massage your feet with the Cordovan cobblestones.

Wrought Iron

At Antonio Calzado Estudio we give special importance to craftsmanship and as it could not be otherwise, in Hammam the work of our blacksmiths is present. Both the lamp in the second room and the golden lanterns in the first had a function beyond aesthetics.

The play of lights with the wrought iron results in shadows on the gamma walls, making this a much more special, magical and welcoming place.

References to Andalusia

We have already talked in different entries on this blog that Andalusia (and especially Seville) is a source of constant inspiration when carrying out our Interior Design projects.

We couldn't pass up the opportunity to reflect those Andalusian references in Hammam, so we designed a lamp with lemon and orange blossom leaves that reminds us of Seville in Spring or some geometric patterns on both the coffered ceiling and the shower wall that It transports us to such important monuments as the mosque of Córdoba and the Alhambra of Granada.

The Cordovan cobblestones, the natural olive tree or the aroma of incense that remains in Hammam are some of the references to Andalusia that Antonio Calzado Estudio wanted to incorporate in this project.

In our Interior Design Studio we think about every detail of our projects, from the lighting mechanisms to the aroma of the spaces we create.
